Miriam Zula Rossman Branan

Miriam R. Branan, born October 13, 1939, passed away June 16, 2018 in Savannah after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Eddie Branan, and her parents, Tom and Thelma Rossman.

Miriam grew up in Moultrie, GA where she graduated high school. Later, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia, and her Master’s degree in Education from Georgia Southwestern. She taught at both the Mitchell County and Chatham County School Systems during an 18 year period. Miriam’s personal passions included cooking, sewing, being a good mother/grandmother, and playing the piano, both at home and at First Baptist Church of Camilla, GA, and First Baptist Church of the Islands in Savannah.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Deana), Michael (Renee), a daughter, Charlotte (DeWayne), and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ruth Clark and Helen Selph (Larry), and one brother, Tommy (Jena), and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.

Remembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
